Bakgabudae Plus Korean Restaurant

Hello everyone! I wish you have a beautiful Sunday ahead. =)
Oppa and I decided to just go to the IFC Mall for our date as it had been a long time since the last time we went there for shopping. We decided to go for Korean food at Bak-ga-bu-dae (박가부대) Plus restaurant after some walking around looking at different restaurants and discussion on what to eat.

Our reason for selecting this restaurant was that they had a great display of Korean menu, their environment looks cozy, clean and the interior was designed well. There were quite a lot of people queuing for it meaning it must be quite good.
They have quite a small sitting capacity. But since it was a weekend, there's the crowd and we had to wait for a seat for about 20 mins plus. The staff came serving us with some cold drinks while we were referring to the menu.

Bakgabudae (박가부대) is a Korean restaurant that serve authentic and good quality Korean cuisine.

I was quite excited to try this place because I heard a lot of the older Koreans come here for the Budae-Jjigae (부대찌개) or Army Base Stew.
The prices are a little expensive than other places, but everything on the menu is really delicious and the staff who work here are friendly.

The banchans (side dishes) were served first and all of the side dishes are well prepared. They don't give you many sides, but the odeng (fish cakes) was absolutely delish.

We ordered Budae-JjigaeBudae (부대) actually has a meaning referring to the army, and Jjigae (찌개) usually means soup.
The big retro pot came within the next 5 minutes. The army base stew (부대찌개) was filled with spam, sausages, potato, and vegetables. They placed it on a portable stove and let it boil. It was nice that we could serve ourselves and we could pick out the food that we wanted in the soup. The broth here is so flavorful and even though it's spicy, the spiciness is not so overwhelming that you lose the taste of the soup.
This army base stew (부대찌개) is meant to serve two people, but the portion is so big that I think it could fill 3 people at least.

It comes with Ottogi Ramensari but u need to top up additional 1,000 Won for it. The noodles is really worth it, and it is so delicious that you will ask for more.
Overall, the budae-jjigae was fantastic as well, rich and cooked to the right taste, there are lots of ingredients inside the soup including noodles.
